New Resident Checklist

New to Inwood? Here’s a quick checklist to help you get settled.

1. Set up City utilities (water, sewer, garbage)
   Contact City Hall: (712) 753-4833
   Complete the City’s utility application to start service. Form can be found and downloaded below, otherwise you may grab a form at the City Hall office.
   Note: A $100 deposit is required to establish services.
2. Trash, recycling, and yard waste
   Garbage pickup: Friday mornings (all garbage must fit in the cart).
   Stickers are available at City Hall for extra garbage or large items.
   Recycling: every other Monday (must be clean and dry). You may pick up a recycling brochure at the City Hall office.
   Yard waste: not allowed in garbage—please use the tree dump (yard waste only).
3. Set up additional services (if needed)

4. Mail
   Many Inwood residents need a PO Box. Contact the Post Office:

5. Outdoor burning reminder
   Recreational fires are allowed with seasoned wood only. No garbage, leaves, or cardboard.
   No other open burning is allowed.
