COMMUNITY WELLNESS CHALLENGE MEETING MAY 1

Submitted by Carol Vander Kolk on Fri, 04/26/2013 - 14:16.

Community Members Encouraged to Take Wellness Challenge
We all know what we should be doing to stay healthy and why it's important, but sometimes it's nice to have that extra motivation to get on & stay on track.
To help provide the resources and motivation for our communities to live a healthier life, Sanford Canton-Inwood is proposing a community wellness challenge.
This team-based initiative is aimed at improving the wellness of the Canton, Inwood, and surrounding communities through an abundance of unique activities. By creating a supportive environment among teams, we will encourage participants to improve their overall health as well as increase camaraderie in our communities.
As a community program, we are currently looking for business owners, church members, community leaders and individuals to plan and promote the challenge. For more information regarding the challenge or to be a part of the committee, please join us on Wednesday, May 1st at 4:00 pm at the Inwood Community Center.
For more information, contact Melissa Schutte, Sanford Canton-Inwood, at (605) 764-1493 or Melissa.schutte@sanfordhealth.org.

TREE CLEAN UP

Submitted by Carol Vander Kolk on Mon, 04/15/2013 - 14:10.

Thank you to all the groups and individuals that are helping neighbors with clean up. It is wonderful to see everyone working together. Thank you.
City of Inwood will be picking up tree debris at the street edge. Please stack your pile on the edge of the street, not on your grass. Crews will not be driving on any lawns to pick up a pile. Branches are limited to 10 feet or less in length.
Lyon County Emergency Management has contacted a volunteer organization that will come to Lyon County and trim the "hangers" left high in the trees. Please be patient, this organization has a wide area to cover.
Thank you to Mid American Energy and the extra crews brought in to assist. Crews work around the clock. We are very grateful for the excellent service.
If you have any questions or need assistance, please call Inwood City Office 753-4833.
We are all thankful for minimum property damage. Clean up is a lot of work, but by working together, we will get our community cleaned up. Thank you.
